Scott Kelby’s Photowalk
Scott Kelby is the president of NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) and he organized a world wide event called the Photowalk which celebrated the release of his new book Lightroom 2 by having people all over the world gather in major cities and walk a certain route and take photos with local photographers. It’s more or less a free social event, which is always a great opportunity and meet new interesting people and learn new things.
This is exactly what I did when I signed up for the Denver, CO Photowalk group led by Timothy Tonge. Even though this was a Denver group, Tim chose to do the photowalk up in Golden. I was the youngest and least experiences photographer in the group of approximately 50 people and it was a great opportunity for me to ask tons of questions in order to get the most out of this experience. Here are some of the shots I took.

After the walk, we settled in a restaurant to chat and show off our shots. As promised, I got to know a lot of very interesting people who share the same hobby. And the best part is, they are all local! The point of the walk is that the leader of the group will pick their favorite photo to submit to Scott Kelby for a prize: Scott Kelby’s Lightroom 2 book. And the best photo overall (world wide) will win the grand prize which just includes a sh!t load of goodies.
